Experience

I have edited several works of fiction, a memoir, grant applications (federal, provincial, and institutional), job cover letters, teaching philosophies, pedagogical materials for an online course, professional progress reports, conference papers, and abstracts.

Currently, I am an Assistant Editor at the Art Gallery of Ontario. I work on publications (catalogues) and on the exhibition copy (the text that goes on the walls) for exhibitions and collection rotations..

I have provided substantive editing, copyediting, language correction for ESL writers (Italian, French, Chinese, Russian), proofreading, and other services depending on the project.

Subjects of academic articles I have edited include English, French, Italian, and Russian literature and film, art history, philosophy and theory, sociology, medicine, and biology. I would like to expand this list.

I have also produced a number of indexes for academic books on literature, including the following two major publications:

  • The Complete Correspondence of Samuel Richardson, vols. 5-7: Correspondence with Lady Bradshaigh and Lady Echlin, edited by Peter Sabor, Cambridge University Press
  • The Oxford History of the Novel in English, vol. 2: 1750-1820, edited by Karen O’Brien and Peter Garside, Oxford University Press

Some of the other publications I have worked on in various capacities—mainly as copyeditor—are listed below:

  • Papers / Cahiers of the Bibliographical Society of Canada
  • A City Girl by Margaret Harkness, edited by Tabitha Sparks, Broadview Press
