“There’s Someone in No One”

In November 2019, the Globe and Mail published an essay of mine in their “First Person” section. It was republished in August 2020 as one of the five most-read essays of the year.

It is about a strange experience that I had at the Canada-US border, but also — and more importantly — about being a woman travelling alone through the world, the assumptions she must navigate, and the simultaneous privilege and burden of self-sufficiency.
